THE FEVERS - Love Always Wins LP/CD

THE FEVERS! THE FEVERS! Yes, here is their eagerly awaited second album with twelve new exciting songs in the way only they could do it. Started as a mystery with few fans years ago, they gained reputation in the world of music and got a place in many hearts with their debut album “GAAN DAAR WAAR DE MEISJES ZIJN”, their 2003 European Tour and just finished touring with their lovely Japanese friends the 5.6.7.8´s in the US. The debut album haven’t lost any of it’s magic and receiving twinkling reviews like hardly no other record.

“LOVE ALWAYS WINS” teem with hookalicious song writing, tunes which will make you sing either in the crowded tube in the morning or during sunset on the roof, will make you smile, turn around, catch the album for looking on the back. Maybe Gavin, Brian and Travis form one of the most unique band of my world today. The FEVERS got all the pop music history has to offer. It´s powerpop as TEENAGE HEAD, NERVES and KNACK (without ties & laughing all the way to the bank), taking the cues from the “odd” bubblegum craze boy groups of the stunning nice guy 60´s harmonies. The FEVER B, G and T are geeks - no need for gimmicks to stand out, they love to rock, they love it loud but they don’t wanna be “LOUD” like most others out there. Topped by Gavin´s undeniable distinguish raspy voice, backed by that foot-tapping juice-driving heart-soaring lead and WHO-ish rough punchiness their sound is simple but surprising, intense but shining bright. Watch out the FEVERS are flying over you in red baron jackets, beatle boots and winter underwear throwing bananas! Again, the polka dot cover is the one you’ll find in bunch for sure, this time on “What Whale?” Records. Vinyl comes a big full color poster as long as supplies last. Ah yes, remember buddy, girls (and Darin Raffaelli) LOVE the FEVERS!

THE FEVERS - Gaan Daar Waar De Meisjes Zijn LP/CD

Don´t know how to start, I´m staggered by myself, THE FEVERS put out unbelievable good 7" on Lipstick Records in 1998 - that platter made it easily in my Top 5 of that year and guess they would be favourite new band, too. That was the last I heard of this band till I read that they played the 2000 Las Vegas Shakedown. I asked a friend who was there if he has seen the FEVERS, it was an afternoon showcase at a different place and he couldn´t not positively stand the Las Vegas high noon degrees so he prefered the pool than the walk to it. A choice I couldn´t understand. Can it be too hot to miss THE FEVERS ?

There was no other sign, obviously it was a one hit 45 wonder project and someone, in this case Ms. Lucchesi of the BOBBYTEENS / TINA & TOTAL BABES, was so smart to release it. When a run through my 7" stock I always had to stop skipping and wonder what the hell happened to them, what story may behind this mystery.... Once upon a time stars coming back again - so are THE FEVERS ! The mystery is unsolved, here is the full length of´em, it´s almost too good to be true, they are satellites of compulsive pop, the sound of NOW - the primal joy of zero based power pop music.

Infectious. Possesed. Drawing attention.

The motivation that power pop can take the Top 40 by storm, bring the mainstream of culture to sumbission in one quick and easy battle - a old fantasy of the bohemian underground. A dream much older than rock´n´roll itself, so is "Gaan Daar Waar De Meisjes Zijn" my, a fan´s vision what the Top 40 ought to be. The FEVERS are here to to stay, and they have all the quarters to play the jukebox !

Late 70´s power pop, take the TEENAGE HEAD, the REAL KIDS, a dash of british like the INCREDIBLE KIDDA BAND, or artists like JOE JACKSON and the strong relation to the cool sound of today- as the DONNY DENIM 45 (Radio X) - The incarnation of bubblegum music! (remember all those semi-cool, semi-laughbale second echolon boygroups of the sixties as the HERMAN HERMIT´S, OHIO EXPRESS or the 1910 FRUITGUM CO ?) It makes the FEVERS genuinly sexy. A pounding, insistent bass, the punk rock drive, sparkling melodies, the FEVERS treat rocknroll history as our shared mythology. You can´t oppose, just tap your feets on the floor !

The vinyl record is a deluxe 220g wax as first pressing, if you care or not, some are even available in colored vinyl. The digital output is in a neat heavy paperstock digipack, all in a traditional Fantana Records style artwork.

Enjoy "GO WHERE THE GIRLS ARE" !
